Description

Jan Garbett is a Utah native running for Utah’s Second Congressional District with the United Utah Party. Based out of Salt Lake City, the Garbett for Congress team is looking for a Campaign Manager responsible for planning and organizing a winning campaign with the following qualifications:
Qualifications/Requirements:

The applicant should have at least five years of political organizing/campaign management experience, including experience with a statewide campaign where volunteer-executed voter identification played a central role in the campaign.

The applicant must have a proven track record in coalition building, grass roots or field campaign organizing, financial oversight, and public speaking.

The applicant must have experience in coordinating media purchase, production, and media relations.

The applicant must have demonstrated fundraising experience and knowledge of campaign funding sources.

The applicant must have strong analytical skills, be able to interpret polling data, voter demographics, collections of donations and spending.

The applicant must be able to identify trends and assess the effectiveness of advertisements and other efforts.

The applicant must have strong communication skills, with impeccable written and oral communication for both internal and external affairs.

The applicant must have strong leadership skills, including oversight, evaluation, and motivation of staff. Leadership also includes properly instructing staff and delegating tasks.

The applicant must have experience and comfort directing staff via online task management and communication platforms such as Asana and Slack.

The applicant must be willing and available to work long hours, including hours outside of normal weekday office hours.

The applicant must be comfortable working in high-pressure, fast-paced political environments.

The applicant must have demonstrated ability to work with diverse communities, serve as a team leader, and maintain a sense of humor.
The Campaign Manager must be able to successfully fulfill the following tasks as part of their job function:

Oversee all aspects of the research, drafting and implementation of a statewide campaign plan.

Define roles and negotiate contracts with all vendors, consultants, and staff including general, fundraising, field, and media.

Hire and manage campaign staff.

Formulate a budget for the campaign and monitor compliance with it.

Lead fundraising efforts in identifying and soliciting funds for a significant fundraising campaign.

Build broad, effective grassroots campaign including, but not limited to, coalition building, voter contact and get-out-the-vote activities.

Oversee the development of all paid media production, distribution and broadcast (TV, radio, and direct mail). Manage aggressive free media campaign.

Staff statewide campaign committee and coordinate other statewide committees.

Manage all aspects of fiduciary oversight, legal administration and adherence to campaign finance reporting requirements.

Determine how to allocate campaign resources, such as in media advertisements, posting campaign signs and deploying volunteers into communities, public events, and polling locations.

Manage the candidate’s public or fundraising appearances, interviews and other aspects of the candidate’s schedule.

Advise candidate on priorities for campaign activities and progress of the campaign.

Grant interviews with media about campaign and candidate.

In-state travel is required to meet up with donors and prospects and to attend campaign meetings and events.
Salary: Negotiable, commensurate w/experience.
Benefits: This will be a full time contractor position with a monthly compensation expiring mid-November.
