At Campaigns & Elections, our goal is to provide our interns with a unique and well-rounded experience – partially shaped by the employees of the magazine and partially shaped by the intern. We welcome interns to take part in everyday life at C&E - brainstorming sessions, client meetings, conferences and editorial content. Our interns are not secretaries, they are a core and essential part of our team!

C&E offers four internships each semester (in accordance with all major colleges and universities), including summer: one in our Events/Marketing Department, one in the International Programs Division and two in our Editorial Department. Descriptions and requirements for each position are listed below. Junior/Senior students preferred and a minimum of a 3.2 GPA is required. All internships are unpaid but we will gladly work with you to obtain credit at your college or university.

WE ARE NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE 2012 SPRING SEMESTER.

For more information or to apply, please send cover letter, resume and two writing samples to Megan Simpson at msimpson@campaignsandelections.com. We look forward to hearing from you!

Read what our interns are saying:

"My time with C&E was fun, engaging and invaluable. Even though I started with little journalistic know-how, working at the magazine was an unforgettable experience that hugely grew and expanded my skills, introduced me to some incredible people and gave me the confidence I need to go after my career goals. Thank you C&E!" - Camille, Editorial Intern [Summer 2011]

"Interning at Campaigns & Elections magazine has taught me more than I could have imagined about the industry. At C&E I was able to build a community and a list of contacts that I will be able to hold onto and work with for the rest of my future career." - Justin, Editorial Intern [Summer 2011]

"Interning at Campaigns & Elections magazine en Español, was a great personal and academic opportunity. This experience will be part of me the rest of my life, and I will take with me a lot of knowledge. I also had the opportunity to meet incredible people. I will always thank them for their kindness and patience. Thank you for everything." - Itzel Voigt, International Programs Intern [Fall 2011]

"An internship at C&E is an excellent experience if you are really looking to contribute and create. Instead of shuffling papers and directing phone calls, I was interviewing players in the field of politics and writing stories about the latest trends in political consulting. This is a great way to get a true glimpse behind the curtain of how the business of politics works in America." - Kris Ankarlo, Editorial Intern [Fall 2011]

"My experience at C&E over the past 4 months has been phenomenal. I learned a great deal in the fields of both marketing and events that I am confident will help me in my future career.  Everyone at C&E made me feel like I was a part of the team and not just an intern. I will never forget their kind hospitality and the lasting knowledge they provided me with." - Erika Mark, Events and Marketing Intern [Fall 2011]
