Zata3 Consulting conducts biweekly surveys to track opinions on the economy and other noteworthy issues. The survey question considered to day is, "How would you rate Obama's efforts to promote racial equality?" For an introduction to the survey results, click here. For previous polling on this question, click here. For the most part our late-May survey showed little change among the ethnic groups’ opinions of Obama’s efforts to improve racial equality.F or the first time since mid-March, less than 60 percent of Asian-Americans and African-Americans believe the President is moving at the right pace. Caucasians seem to be holding steady with around 50 percent believing Obama is moving at the right pace but still a healthy portion (43 percent) thinking he needs to slow down. Mexican-Americans have been slightly more optimistic; 61 percent believe he is moving at the right pace, while 58 percent of other Latinos approve of the speed of the Presidents efforts to improve racial equality. Wave 6 of our NationPulse survey ran on May 26, the same day Obama announced Sonia Sotomayor as his pick for Supreme Court Justice. As her confirmation in the Senate takes place over the coming weeks we expect to see changes among all ethnic groups in regards to their opinion on this question.
